With the International Beethoven Piano Competition 2017 the mdw is to present one of theworldwide most renowned piano competitions for the 15th time.
Following international auditions in New York City, Tokio, Berlin, Bonn, London and Vienna in January and February 2017, the 36 best pianists are to meet in Vienna as of May 28, 2017 to compete for the best interpretation of Beethoven’s works. The finale with orchestra will take place in the Golden Hall of Musikverein Vienna.
Prizes and participation
The winner may look forward to a Bösendorfer Grand Piano Model 200 as well as to EUR 10,000.
2nd Prize: EUR 6,000
3rd Prize: EUR 4,000
Several other prizes and awards will be awarded.
Pianists of all nationalities born between January 1, 1985 and December 31, 2000 are eligible.
